What is the study about?
The aim of the survey is to understand the mental health outcomes of adolescent migrants using a globally recognized survey tool called the Depression Anxiety Stress Scale (DASS-21). We also ask for information about the experience in migration and living in Chile to understand how to support migrants from different origins and experiences.. The survey questions will be both brief and concise and the overall questionnaire length of a maximum of 15 minutes. These questions have been selected in consultation with technical experts.
Who is involved in the study?
SJM has partnered with the University of Oxford to design and implement a survey on the phone due to the geographic location of the communities. Geopoll has been engaged to implement the survey because of their expertise in phone surveys. A similar study already took place in Santiago.
Do I have to participate?
No. Please note that participation is voluntary. If you decide to participate, you can withdraw at any time stating that you do not want to continue. If you request this, your data will also be deleted.
How will my data be used?
Your data will be anonymized and will be used only for this analysis.
Where is my data stored?
Data is collected in a way which complies with the European Data Protection Regulations called the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).The data will be saved according to GDPR guidelines which follow Chilean and European data privacy laws.
Who will have access to my data?
The University of Oxford is the data controller of your personal data and as such will determine how your personal data will be used in the research. The University will process your personal data for the purposes of the research described above. Research is a task that we carry out in the public interest. Further information about your rights in relation to your personal data is available at https://compliance.admin.ox.ac.uk/individual-rights. Data will be anonymised before it is shared with other researchers or the results are made public. The results will be written up for a DPhil degree.
Who reviewed this research?
This research has been reviewed by a subcommittee of the Central University of Oxford Research Ethics Committee and has been granted ethical clearance. It has also been reviewed in Chile.

¿De qué se trata el estudio?
El objetivo de la encuesta es comprender los resultados de salud mental de los adolescentes migrantes utilizando una herramienta de encuesta reconocida mundialmente llamada Escala de Depresión, Ansiedad y Estrés (DASS-21). También solicitamos información sobre la experiencia en la migración y la vida en Chile para comprender cómo apoyar a los migrantes de diferentes orígenes y experiencias. Las preguntas de la encuesta serán breves y concisas y la duración total del cuestionario será de un máximo de 15 minutos. Estas preguntas se han seleccionado en consulta con expertos técnicos.
¿Quién participa en el estudio?
SJM se ha asociado con la Universidad de Oxford para diseñar e implementar una encuesta por teléfono debido a la ubicación geográfica de las comunidades. Se ha contratado a Geopoll para implementar la encuesta debido a su experiencia en encuestas telefónicas. Ya se llevó a cabo un estudio similar en Santiago.
¿Tengo que participar?
No. Tenga en cuenta que la participación es voluntaria. Si decide participar, puede retirarse en cualquier momento indicando que no desea continuar. Si lo solicita, sus datos también serán eliminados.
¿Cómo se utilizarán mis datos?
Sus datos serán anonimizados y se utilizarán únicamente para este análisis.
¿Dónde se almacenan mis datos?
